"God only knows what I'd be without you"
"God Only Knows" is the eighth track to The Beach Boy's eleventh studio album, Pet Sounds. It's a standard Beach Boys jingle, excluding the song's unusually somber tone. The lyrics describe a couple contemplating life without each other. They come to the conclusion that their love could only cease in death. It's a tad cliche, but still a very powerful message, especially for a band that's notoriously light-hearted.
