Golden Rain
Newcam: 2010: Part Nine
(March 8, 2010)
There are very few natural phenomenons that came as much of a surprise to me in California. Snow was something you had to hike north to find and sandstorms were not even present in the south unless you dared venture into Death Valley, so I was always underwhelmed by any sort of weather I encountered in my youth. If it rained, it rained all day. If there was sunshine, well that wasn't very surprising either.
But one thing I can never attest to have seen in New York is that sweet, golden rain. The rain that appears in excessive amounts as the sunshine peaks from behind the clouds, leaving a strange mixture of what I like to call "golden rain."
